How would you like to buy a stainless steel dehydrator at a very reasonable price? Check out this Cosori Dehydrator Review to find out why so many people are choosing this bestseller over the leading manufacturer!

Rating:The brand name may not be familiar to you, but it’s becoming more popular by the day. The reason may well be as simple as the word “value”.
The Cosori Premium Food Dehydrator is a 6-tray unit with an automatic timer and adjustable thermostat. It gets superior ratings from consumers for producing excellent results with all kinds of foods, and for being easy to use and to clean.
Both the housing and the trays of this model are made of stainless steel. That usually makes a huge difference in cost, but the price on this Cosori is extremely reasonable. You can buy dehydrators with much larger drying capacity, but it’s hard to beat the value of this model. Read on for all the details.
Features
- Stainless Steel Housing and Stainless Trays
- 6 Trays – 6.5 square feet of drying space
- Touch-Control LED Display
- Built-in Timer – 30 minutes to 48 hours
- Automatic Shutoff
- Adjustable Thermostat – 95° to 165°
- 600 watts
- 1 Year Warranty
Trays are dishwasher safe. Even the liners can go in your dishwasher if you put them on the top rack.
The timer is adjustable in 30 minute increments, from 1/2 hour up to a maximum of 48 hours. In the beginning it might be wise to check foods earlier than you might expect them to be ready. Many users report that this dehydrator works much faster than other machines they’ve used.
When time is up, the unit will beep to alert you that the cycle has ended and shut itself off. This model is FDA approved and also includes an “overheating protection” safety feature that will shut down the machine if it should overheat.
Overheating is rare and would indicate that you need to call customer support. Online research did not turn up any reports of this type of problem.
An adjustable thermostat makes dehydrators more versatile, and this one gives you a wide range from 95°F up to 165°F. That makes it suitable for delicate items that require very low heat, as well as for making jerky that requires very high heat for safety.
A one year limited warranty is included, and the manufacturer’s website states that if you register your appliance you can extend it for 1 additional year (at no additional cost).
Wattage & Voltage
Wattage: 600 Watts
Power Supply: AC 120V, 60Hz
Color & Materials
Color: Though usually listed as “silver”, the exterior is actually stainless steel.
Materials: The exterior is made of food grade stainless steel, and the unit has a glass door. It is BPA free because the trays are also stainless. The manufacturer states that its tray liners and mesh screens are also 100% BPA-free.
This dehydrator is designed in California, but it is made in China.
Size & Capacity
Exterior Dimensions: 13.4″ x 17.8″ x 12.4″
Capacity: Like all box-style dehydrators, the Cosori is not expandable. It includes 6 trays that measure approximately 12 inches x 13 inches, giving you a maximum drying capacity of about 6.5 square feet.
What’s Included with the Cosori Premium Dehydrator?
- 1 fruit roll sheet
- 1 mesh screen
- Recipe book
- User Manual
The recipe booklet is written using common U. S. measurements and contains about 50 recipes for all sorts of jerky, fruits and fruit leathers, snacks, and sweets. Also included are some dehydrating tips and a quick reference time chart for fruits and vegetables.
Optional Dehydrator Accessories
Depending on what you plan to dehydrate, you may need extra mesh screens and/or fruit roll sheets. Both the screens and the sheets sell for right around $10 for a pack of 2. By comparison that’s a very reasonable price, but it does run up your total cost for the dehydrator so keep that in mind.
Customer Reviews
It’s difficult to find any low ratings or negative reviews on this model. That’s good news, of course, but nothing is perfect, and a smart shopper always wants to know if there are known issues or common problems.
In fact, there was one person who gave this Cosoari only 1 star because the fan never worked properly and quit altogether after only a few months. But that’s not the end of the story.
In an update this person says he had first contacted Amazon, and they referred him to the manufacturer, and the manufacturer replaced his dehydrator with a new one that works perfectly. Despite that, the reviewer did not upgrade his one-star rating.
There’s an important lesson here. What so many people cannot seem to understand is that your warranty is with the manufacturer. With Amazon you usually have 30 days to return a product, no matter the reason. After 30 days, if you have a problem then you cannot go through Amazon. You must contact the manufacturer and make a warranty claim.
Almost all of the other customer ratings are very positive. A few people do list minor issues that appear to be user error or inexperience, and in every case you can see that the company is actively monitoring and responding to customer complaints. They seem eager to help anyone with a legitimate problem, and that’s always a good sign.
Among all those rave reviews are countless mentions of excellent results making beef, venison, chicken, and turkey jerky – both for people and for dog treats. Others report great success with a wide range of fruits and vegetables, drying nuts, beans and rice, and making fruit leather. One person even found it handy for keeping meals warm.
The vast majority of users give this dehydrator excellent marks for maintaining an even temperature, providing good air flow, running quietly, and being easy to use and to clean. It also does a good job of keeping the heat inside, which makes it work more efficiently and prevents it from heating up your room.
Overall, owners really like the weight and quality construction of the unit, and they especially like the sturdiness of the stainless steel trays. One reviewer summed up all the others quite well in saying that the Cosori does what it’s supposed to do and is very affordable for the quality.

Cosori Dehydrator Review – Model CP267-FD: Summary
If you’ve always wanted a stainless steel dehydrator but couldn’t (or woudn’t) shell out big bucks for it, this model is definitely worth considering. One possible drawback could be its capacity limit of 6.5 square feet. That’s fine for most average users, but maybe not for a hunting camp, an avid gardener, or others doing mass processing.
What the Cosori CP267-FD does give you is quality construction in a full-featured food dehydrator that is easy to operate and to clean. Though the manufacturer is not yet well known, so far customer feedback is excellent. Owners give this machine the highest praise for consistently good results with jerky and all kinds of fruits, vegetables, and other foods. As that one reviewer said, it’s a quality dehydrator that’s very affordable, and it does what it’s supposed to do.
Still undecided?
The most well-known name in dehydrators is Excalibur. Excalibur dehydrators are considerably more expensive than the model in the above review, but Excalibur is an old company with an established reputation for excellent quality and customer service.
